When Israel Lost the Vision of God, 3000 People Among Them Perished
“Where there is no vision, the people perish” is a part of a proverb frequently cited only in part, shortchanging the hearers of the truth
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Proverbs 29:18, KJV)
As the Scriptures clearly show us, we cannot bring anyone spiritually to where we have not been. Christ, the Son of God Himself showed us this way by being our forerunner. In order to redeem mankind from their sinful state and restore them on the way to glory where God is, He first became a man. The perfect man that God wanted, in His image and likeness when He created the first man.
In order to bring us to glory where God is, He first must go there. To get there, He had to live a life worthy of that glory. That is living according to the vision He receives. The vision is received from God, the Father who is in heaven. And that vision from heaven (heavenly) is given in His Father’s word, God’s commandment, God’s will, God’s law.
Christ, Himself testifies, “…Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do. For whatever He does, likewise the Son does.” (John 5:19, MEV)
