The story is recorded in the Gospel of John, chapter 11. All verse references are from the Modern English Version (MEV) Bible.

I shared in my previous article how Jesus marvelously gave sight to the man who was born blind. How the man’s blindness was neither due to his own sin nor his parents’ but for the purpose of showing the mighty works of God. You may read it here if you haven’t.

A sin which is unto death

John, the apostle highlights in his first epistle that there is a sin that leads to death and there is a sin that is not unto death.

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. (1 John 5:16–17, KJV)
