Modern-Day Spirituality

Yes. Just one of the many that came into the world today.

According to your word, “I still believe in God. I still believe in prayer. I still believe in faith. I still go to church if I am asked to go. I also believe in the universe, synchronicities, spirit animals (mine is a horse), and spirit guides too.”

Yes, that’s the modern-day spirituality. Just one of the many in the world today. As surely as God is true, this way is not of the Almighty God, and He forewarned us of these (Deuteronomy 4:15–20):

Beware of Idolatry

15 “Take careful heed to yourselves, for you saw no form when the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire, 16 lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure: the likeness of male or female, 17 the likeness of any animal that is on the earth or the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air, 18 the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground or the likeness of any fish that is in the water beneath the earth. 19 And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the Lord your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage. 20 But the Lord has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be His people, an inheritance, as you are this day.

And in Deuteronomy 18:10–14:

Avoid Wicked Customs

9 “When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter passed through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. 14 For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.

My friend, please consider this. You were raised at least with a notion of the true God. Perhaps, you have been disillusioned by those who professed to know Christ yet did not live by the Spirit of the true God. You went astray from the Father God, your Creator for lack of knowledge of who He truly is, just like the prodigal Son whom Christ mentioned (Luke 15:11–32).

You Do Not Know What Spirit You Are

If you believe that the spirit that is in you is that of an animal (yours is a horse, you may say), and that is what guides you, then you have not known the true God, and you have not Christ, the true life from God (1 John 5:10–12).

10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness (the Holy Spirit) in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

‘You must be born again.’

Jesus said “…Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ (John 3:5–7)

According to your word, in your current state, please understand what the great King Solomon realized in his old age (Ecclesiastes 3:18–21):

18 I said in my heart, “Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals.” 19 For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity. 20 All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. 21 Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes downward (hell)?

You are from Below, I Am from Above

Jesus promised to those who have yet to believe in Him (John 8:23–24):

And He said to them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He (the Son of God), you will die in your sins.

The apostle Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38–39)

21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:21–22)

Believe and Be Saved

Yes, dear friend. Believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and be saved. He is the only way to God, the truth from God, and the true Life from God, and receive the Holy Spirit and become a true child of God.

“…for if you do not believe that I am He (the Son of God), you will die in your sins.”

(For) “…as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12–13)

May God bless you, my friend. To God be the glory, forever. Amen.
