In the Beginning, God… Is He Pro-life or Pro-choice?

All things were made by Him… In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Popped up on my email, the winning story in a Coffee Times Substack challenge about the inevitability of death. The piece resonated with me as God’s word to Adam, “for dust you are, and to dust you shall return” (Gen.3:19) was on my mind. I thought I’d look through her other stories here on Medium. Lisa Gerard Braun’s story prompted this one.

Our Creator, God is pro-life. He is the life, the giver of life, and the sustainer of it. That is the primary purpose He created mankind male and female, to reproduce and multiply life, so the Scriptures says.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27–28)

God allowed mankind the right to choose

After God created man, the Creator allowed them to be pro-choice by planting a garden with three kinds of trees for them to choose which ones to eat from.
