Yes, that’s what the “The Message” Bible translation says
I have noticed that some of my fellow Christian writers here in Medium quote Bible verse references from this translation “The Message.” Although I’m familiar with this version, I don’t use it except when someone quotes from it. Then I need to compare. But I’m beginning to realize its increasing popularity as it seems to be achieving the author’s intent, “to make the biblical text relevant to the conditions of the people”.
However, was not the intent of the Bible to transform the people’s conditions according to the biblical text? Amen! Nevertheless, Bible translators and expositors under a different spirit can do what apostle Peter warned us against, and I quote from The Message translation:
Some things Paul writes are difficult to understand. Irresponsible people who don’t know what they are talking about twist them every which way. They do it to the rest of the Scriptures, too, destroying themselves as they do it. (2 Peter 3:16, MSG)
Indeed, some do it on the pretext of rightly dividing the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
