Brethren, Save Thyself — Part 2
And for their sake I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth (John 17:19)
The first question I asked God after my baptism at forty was, “Why only now? Why not when I was younger? I could have…”
Well, He knows the proper time and He always does things well. For even if He did earlier, I would have not really responded. Perhaps He did call. But my life was overcrowded with the cares of this earthly life and my conscience was seared with sins. Although outwardly, I was a church Sunday-goer, inwardly I had no place for Him. So God had to break me first. I’m forever thankful He did.
Now, here I am, perhaps a few more years left in this earthly pilgrimage, but still in His service, encouraging others running the same race while singing “Glory to God! HalleluYah!” So, my brethren, “Onward Christian soldiers!” We plow on!
Brethren, Save Thyself!

This is the second part of a two-part treatise exhorting all who desire to serve and follow the Lord for His name’s sake and for the furtherance of the gospel…
